Join us for a sneak preview screening of The Adventures of Saul Bellow followed by a panel discussion with the film's director ASAF GALAY and Yiddish Book Center academic director JOSH LAMBERT. This is the first-ever documentary film on the man described by the critic James Wood as the "greatest of American prose stylists in the 20th century." Marking the centennial of his birth and the tenth anniversary of his death, the film features original interviews, previously restricted footage and takes the viewer to the locations that shaped Bellow and his fiction.

This program is part of the Jeanne M. and John W. Rowe Program Series, in conjunction with our special exhibit My America: Immigrant and Refugee Writers Todaya series of conversations with leading contemporary writers about their latest work and their thoughts on themes of identity, home, belonging and the meaning of what it is to be American. Books will be sold and signed at the event.
