4:00 PM  –  5:30 PM

Join us in welcoming National Book Award-winner Tim O'Brien to the American Writers Museum for a private reception for AWM members on October 22 from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. Enjoy light refreshments, mingle with O'Brien, and receive a signed copy of Dad's Maybe Book, his first new book in nearly 20 years.

In Dad's Maybe Book, O'Brien began writing notes to his sons, imagining he would give them advice. The book is an erudite, vulnerable, honest portrait of a life in letters, the lessons learned in wartime, and the challenges, humor, and rewards of raising two sons.

Tim O'Brien will discuss the book at a public program following the reception at 6:30 p.m. at the Harold Washington Library's Cindy Pritzker Auditorium at 400 South State Street. Seating is on a first come, first served basis and no reservations will be taken. Attending our private reception DOES NOT guarantee admittance to the program at the library.

Your reservation includes a signed copy of Dad's Maybe Book.
